The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory and extreme heat watch for western West Virginia.Ìý
According to the National Weather Service in ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä, heat index values up to 103 are expected from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday. The advisory in West Virginia stretches from Pleasants County in the north to Logan County in the south, and Wayne County in the west to Kanawha County. Almost all of Ohio is covered by the heat advisory.
Additionally an extreme heat watch has been issued for Friday. The NWS reports it will be in effect from Friday morning through Friday evening. Conditions are expected to be dangerously hot with heat index values up to 108 possible.
The NWS encourages people to drink plenty of fluids and stay out of the sun.
The NWS forecasts that high temperatures in ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä will be in the 90s through at least Tuesday. There are chances for rain and storms Friday through Sunday.
