Portions of the West Virginia Turnpike Exit 95 access ramps at Kanawha City will be closed beginning Tuesday for a construction project, according to a media release from the West Virginia Department of Transportation.

Exit 95 ramp from Interstate 64/77 to W.Va.61 in Kanawha City

Vehicles take the Exit 95 ramp off the West Virginia Turnpike (which is Interstate 64/77) onto MacCorkle Avenue in Kanawha City, on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025.

In July, Kokosing Construction Company was awarded a contract for $2,961,631.40 to replace the two Exit 95 ramps that cross under the Chuck Yeager Bridge. The new ramps will be lower, to create more clearance under the bridge for taller vehicles.
