South ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä Farmers Market opening weekend a big success

Several vendors, including Gritt’s Farm and Gritt’s Midway Greenhouse, displayed their plants, flowers and produce in the farmers market building, while other farms and food trucks set up outside.

South ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä police officers directed traffic, and also pedestrians, to and from parking areas between MacCorkle Avenue and the market.

South ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä Mayor Frank Mullens was thrilled with the opening weekend.

“Turnout was amazing,� Mullens said on Monday. “Gritt’s Farm had to restock four times. And some vendors sold out.�
