The University of ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä’s Addison Mass has been an effective pitcher in the circle for the Golden Eagles this season.
The junior pitcher pieced together an impressive regular season, compiling the best ERA in the Mountain East Conference at 1.82.
Mass also posted a 20-4 record in 154 innings pitched, striking out 157 batters.
Her impressive season earned the Illinois native the MEC Pitcher of the Year award.
Player of the Year went to Davis & Elkins senior Linzey Allard. Allard batted .403 and smashed 13 home runs, driving home 42 RBIs.
Mass also made first-team All-MEC alongside second baseman Lindsey Phares.
Also from UC to make All-MEC was catcher Hannah Meyer, who was named to the second team. The California native ranked in the top 10 in the conference in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, OPS, runs, hits, RBIs, doubles and home runs.
Fairmont Senior’s Alexa Foresha claimed Freshman of the Year recognition. The Follansbee native has been efficient for the Falcons, as she batted .368, hit six home runs and totaled 38 RBIs. Her batting average, home runs and RBIs, along with her slugging percentage and doubles, all ranked in the conference’s top 10.
Glenville State’s Sara Schoone was named conference Coach of the Year after leading the Pioneers to the No. 1 seed in this week’s MEC tournament. The Pioneers are 34-15 to this point.
