United Way Central West Virginia launched the 20th anniversary of its Day of Caring on Wednesday with a kickoff event at the ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä Coliseum & Convention Center.
This year, 1,025 volunteers representing 60 teams serving at 64 project sites across the organization’s six-county footprint — Boone, Braxton, Clay, Kanawha, Logan and Putnam counties. Collectively, their work will add up to more than 5,000 volunteer hours in a single day.
