Winfield Watersports Weekend returns this weekend

Friday, June 7

5:30 to 8 p.m.: Music by Weekend Warriors and food trucks featuring Zuuls

Signups for Saturday’s activities, including Stand Up Paddleboard and kayak races

Ducks can be purchased for the Rubber Ducky Race.

6 p.m.: Free SUP lessons from Appalachian Boarding Company, sponsored by the City of Winfield

7:30 p.m.: A Sunset Float, sponsored by the City of Winfield, which will include a 5K float course preview

Saturday, June 8

Music provided by Hot Rod Grille

9:45 a.m.: Mandatory safety meeting for 5K floaters

10 a.m.: 5K Float from the city boat ramp to Winfield High School and back

11 a.m.: Welcome, music, announcements, food trucks open

11 a.m. to noon: 5K Float paddlers return

Noon: Brief safety training

12:30 p.m.: Free SUP Lessons

2 p.m.: Youth and beginner race

2:45 p.m.: Rubber Duck Race

Rubber Duck recovery and board rescue (Zuuls prize for the most rescued ducks)

3:30 p.m.: Paddle Royale

4 p.m.: Awards presentation

4:30 p.m.: Open rentals with Appalachian Boarding Company.
