YWCA ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä has transitioned from its previous fundraising annual Foodie Feasts to Thanks Giving, a digital donation campaign occurring through Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 28).
Each tier of giving is based on classic Thanksgiving dishes, allowing contributors to support the drive while celebrating the flavors of the season.
The Thanks Giving initiative campaign will raise funds for the YWCA Sojourner’s Shelter for Homeless Women and Families. Funds collected will be used to provide food, personal care supplies and other needs for the residents and families at the shelter.
All contributors will be recognized on the YWCA ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä website and social media outlets. They will also be entered for a chance to win a pair of tickets for a West Virginia University men’s basketball game.
The YWCA Sojourner’s Shelter for Homeless Women and Families serves homeless single women, women with children, men with custody of their children, intact families, and veterans. The program provides shelter, counseling, substance abuse intervention, educational advancement, job training, and placement. In the last year, YWCA Sojourner’s provided 23,738 nights of shelter for 610 homeless children and adults.
Sojourner’s residents can actively engage in the services available to achieve economic and housing stability.
Sponsorships for the campaign remain available.
Sponsored by Encova, the YWCA ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä’s annual fall fundraising campaign started more than 25 years ago as a dinner at Wellington’s of Scarlet Oaks in Poca.
