David Pettry of Nichols Lawn Care of South ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä uses a leaf blower to clear leaves from under a large oak tree in the yard of the Grace Church of the Nazarene, 499 Second Ave. in South ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025. He had already filled 14 bags and said he expected to fill 10 more before finishing the job.

The National Weather Service in ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä has issued a flood warning until 7:30 p.m. Friday for Kanawha County and much of Southern West Virginia.

Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Metro 911 has received numerous reports of high water across Kanawha County and urge drivers to travel with caution.
