The transfer trail from Jacksonville, Alabama, to Morgantown, West Virginia, continues with the commitment of wide receiver Cam Vaughn to the Mountaineer program.
The A&P Sports Agency first reported that Vaughn, who caught 48 passes for 803 yards and five scores in 2024, is making the move to WVU.
A native of Temple, Georgia, Vaughn came to Jacksonville State as a quarterback from Temple High School. He moved to wide receiver before the start of the 2023 campaign, appearing in the final three games while recording no statistics before enjoying a breakout season in 2024.
At Temple, Vaughn played for head coach Cory Nix, where he was a back-to-back selection to the GHSA A-1 All-Region Team and the All-Region Offensive Player of the Year. In 2022, his senior season, he threw for 1,001 yards and 11 touchdowns, while running for 1,587 yards and 21 touchdowns, and had nine games of more 100 rushing yards.
That backed up a junior year in which he threw for 1,356 yards and 10 touchdowns, while running for 575 yards and five touchdowns, and a sophomore campaign in which he threw for 1,012 yards and five scores.
New WVU wide receivers coach Ryan Garrett posted his approval after getting the news.
Vaughn will be a redshirt sophomore with three years of eligibility.
