4:45 p.m.Ìý— As of 4 p.m. on Tuesday, the South ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä area has received 2½-3 inches of rainfall, according to Meteorologist Megan Kiebler. The West Virginia International Yeager Airport received 2½ inches of rainfall as of 2 p.m.Ìý
More thunderstorms and showers are expected Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service. New rainfall amounts between ½ and ¾ of an inch are possible. Showers are expected to continue throughout the week.
"When thunderstorms move through the Ohio Valley, those storms can sustain themselves and bring on torrential rainfall to already saturated soils," Kiebler said.
Power outage updates
4:35 p.m.Ìý— As of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, there were about 5,098 reported outages in Kanawha County, according to PowerOutage.com, a power outage aggregation website. Kanawha County had the highest amount of power outages among all 55 counties in West Virginia. Also as of 4:30 p.m., more than 30,000 customers in the Mountain State were out of power. Another flood warning
3:21 p.m. — A Flood Warning was posted for Kanawha County at 3:21 p.m. Tuesday. The warning will be in effect until 6:15 p.m. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring, according to the National Weather Service.Ìý
Water rescues in ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä, Pinch and Cross Lanes
2:18 p.m.Ìý— Additional water rescues have been reported by Metro 911. The incidents occurred in:Â
Cross Lanes at Doc Bailey Road and Big Tyler Road
Pinch at Indian Creek Road and South Pinch Road
Pinch at South Pinch Road and Quick Road
A Metro 911 supervisor said a person was rescued from a vehicle at each of these incidents. No injuries were reported.Ìý

1:30 p.m.Ìý— Several water rescues have been reported by Metro 911. The incidents occurred in:Â
ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä's West Side community at Virginia Street West and Park Avenue
ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä at Porter Road and MacCorkle Avenue Southeast
Metro 911 representatives said no one has been reported injured. The reported incidents involved the rescue of vehicles only. Roadways at the site of the incidents are impassible due to high water, Metro 911 said.Ìý
Flash Flood Warning through 3:30 p.m.
1:01 p.m.Ìý— At around 12:30 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between ½ and 1 inch of rain has fallen, according to the National Weather Service. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. A Flash Flood Warning is in effect through 3:30 p.m.

12:14 p.m.Ìý— A Flash Flood Warning was posted for northern Kanawha County at 12:11 p.m. Tuesday. Thunderstorms producing heavy rain are expected.Ìý
11:26 a.m. — The Flash Flood Warning was cancelled for Kanawha County at 10:59 a.m. Tuesday. A flood watch remains in effect until 8:00 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14.
9:30 a.m. — The National Weather Service put Kanawha County under a Flash Flood Warning Tuesday morning. Boone County and eastern Lincoln County are also under the warning.Ìý

Flash flooding is ongoing or expected in small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Areas with poor drainage and low-lying areas will be affected, according to the National Weather Service.Ìý
The National Weather Service and Kanawha County Emergency Management recommends avoiding roads that appear flooded when driving.
"Turn around, don't drown," Director of Kanawha County Emergency Management C.W. Sigman said. "Most people who die in flooding, die in cars."Â
No creeks or streams have flooded beyond their banks yet, according to Sigman, but continuing rain could cause them to do so.Ìý
Flash flooding caused by excessive rain will be possible throughout the week, according to the National Weather Service. A flood watch will remain in effect through Friday morning for much of West Virginia.
