As a lifelong West Virginian and the executive director of West Virginians for Affordable Health Care, I want to set the record straight: the Enhanced Premium Tax Credits (ePTC) are not “wasteful,†they are critical.

Last year, West Virginia health care was ranked worst in the nation. With the country’s highest rate of preventable deaths and one of the highest average private health insurance premiums, we must use every tool available to us to ensure that West Virginians have access to affordable health care coverage.
