The NBA Summer League is in full swing, as franchises are using this offseason to get live in-game experience with young talent and others to make the final roster come next season.
West Virginia University, Marshall University and the state of West Virginia are all well-represented in this year's event.
Here's a look at how those players are doing so far.
WVU
The Mountaineers have five players represented this summer -- Treysen Eaglestaff, Javon Small, Toby Okani, Jesse Edwards and Erik Stevenson.
Eaglestaff and Okani are competing for the 2025-26 NBA Champion New York Knicks, which is also where former guard Miles "Deuce" McBride played last season.

Eagelstaff is the only player from the 2025-26 team in coach Ross Hodge's first season that is competing this summer.
He's only appeared in one game for the Knicks, playing only five minutes, while Okani has taken the floor in three games.
Small is coming off his first season with the Memphis Grizzlies, who he is also playing with in the Summer League, where he played 41 games last season.
He's played in two contests this summer, averaging nine points on 30% shooting. He's also shooting 80% from the free throw line. He's dished out an average of 3.5 assists.
Edwards, too, has only played two games and is averaging four points in those contests for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Stevenson rounds out the WVU alumni playing this summer, as the former guard is with the Denver Nuggets, marking his fourth Summer League appearance.
He's played in two games and is averaging 23 minutes. Stevenson is averaging 12 points in those contests on 47.6% shooting overall and 36.4% from three.
Marshall
Taevion Kinsey, Jon Elmore and Wyatt Fricks represent Marshall University in the 2026 NBA Summer League. Each has seen playing time as it runs through Sunday.
All three are playing for an opportunity at the NBA or within the NBA G League. Kinsey and Elmore have become fixtures in the G League while Fricks signed an Exhibit 10 contract following the 2026 draft.
Kinsey is playing for the Indiana Pacers, Elmore the Los Angeles Lakers and Fricks the Charlotte Hornets.
Kinsey has played in two games and had his best in a 99-93 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. In just more than 16 minutes of game time, Kinsey scored 16 points, dished an assist and grabbed a rebound while shooting 80% from 3-point range.
He made four 3-pointers, one missing on a half-court chuck as time expired in the third quarter. He led the Pacers in scoring alongside Rienk Mast. In his second game, Kinsey played nine minutes and grabbed a rebound.
Fricks saw action against the New Orleans Pelicans in a 95-91 loss on Saturday.
In just more than six minutes, Fricks went 2 for 3 with a 3-pointer for five points and three rebounds, two on the offensive glass. Fricks also played in Sunday’s game against the Boston Celtics but saw less than a minute of action.
Elmore played more than 18 minutes in a 91-70 win over the Dallas Mavericks Saturday.

In that game, he went 2 for 3 on 3-pointers, totaled six points, grabbed four rebounds, dished five assists, plucked three steals and blocked two shots. The Lakers were led in that game by a 34-point performance from Arthur Kaluma.
Kinsey leads NBA Summer League players with 2.5 or more 3-point attempts per game in 3-point percentage at 80%. Elmore is nearby at 66.7%.
Kinsey’s Pacers play the Minnesota Timberwolves at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Fricks’ Hornets play at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks. Elmore and the Lakers suit up again at 6 p.m. Thursday against the Chicago Bulls. All three games are broadcast on Prime Video.
The next nationally televised summer league game involving the Pacers, Hornets or Lakers is not scheduled but could result from matchups to be determined in consolation and playoff matchups.
In-state natives
Two former Bill Evans Award recipients are representing the Mountain State this summer -- Poca's Isaac McKneely and Fairmont Senior's Jalen Bridges.

McKneely is coming off his lone season at Louisville after starting his career at Virginia.
He concluded his collegiate career scoring 1,472 points and netting 329 threes. His four-year scoring average capped at 11.1 points per game in 133 games played, 101 being starts.
The former Poca Dot is playing for the Atlanta Hawks, where he's played in three games for the franchise.
McKneely dished out a game-high five assists in the Hawks 102-90 victory over the Boston Celtics on Monday.
He's averaging 6.7 points in his three contests this summer.
Fairmont Senior’s Jalen Bridges goes in for a layup against Bridgeport in the Class AA state semifinals.
BRADLEY HELTZEL | Times West Virginian
Bridges, who won the Bill Evans award in 2019, is playing for the Portland Trail Blazers, where he's played in three games for an average of 18.6 minutes.
He's averaging 4.7 points in those contests.
Bridges started his college basketball career at West Virginia before ending it at Baylor.
