A long time ago, in a galaxy across the Atlantic Ocean, “Monty Python’s Flying Circus†came up with a hilarious sketch commonly referred to as “Why Michelangelo didn’t paint the Last Supper.â€

The pope summons Michelangelo and tells him he’s not happy with his painting of one of the Bible’s most important moments, to which Michelangelo replies, “Oh dear, it took me hours.†(It took the real Michelangelo four years to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and three years to sculpt his statue of David.)
